CDP Veterans Caucus Chair - Ron Cohen
I started my career as an enlisted person in the Air Force. After serving in the Vietnam effort in the 70s, I returned to the states and while still enlisted, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree, with majors in engineering, economics, business administration, accounting, and statistics. After being enlisted for 7 years, I became an officer. As an officer my assignments were about managing weapons development. I retired as a Major, after 20 years, and took an assignment with Boeing, where I became a Program Manager. I retired from Boeing in 2011.
I think that we are currently remiss in actively working and helping Veterans and their families. We need to do more. We need to improve our understanding of active California and Federal legislation and start promoting new legislative action. It is surprising we do not have more Veterans Democratic Clubs throughout the state promoting for our Veterans. The bottom line is we need more engagement: Engagement with our membership and our Veterans. We need input from veterans so we can do better. These ideas include:
